Academic Blogs

Subaltern Cinema

Subaltern Cinema is a blog community of researchers and practitioners interested in a poly-centric view of Cinema. The project tries to address the problem of long gestation of research and publication by getting researchers and academics to comment on the area of world "cinemas" from a wide variety of research perspectives.

Subaltern Media

Subaltern Media is a blog community of researchers and practitioners interested in the wider study of South Asian Mass Media and Communications landscape, which is expanding exponentially. While this is undoubtedly good, the growth also raises issues, such as:

  • how should the growth be understood?
  • who is benefiting from it?
  • what are the texts and meanings?

The above is not an exhaustive list of issues, but mere starting points.
